Frequently asked questions
What days and times are you available for shoots?
Our availability for real estate shoots is Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM. However, you have the option of upgrading to golden hour/sunset scheduling for an additional charge. For rental, construction and design shoots, we are available Monday-Friday from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
What should a homeowner do to prepare for a shoot?
We encourage home owners to declutter as best they can to minimize distractions in the final photos. Hiding items in closets, the garage or moving things from room to room on the day of the shoot is totally normal. Less is more. Clearing unnecessary items from tables and countertops makes a considerable impact! In addition, here's a simple checklist for an efficient photo shoot process:
- Open curtains and blinds to brighten things up, but leave the lights turned off for more natural colors
- Shut closet doors, cabinet doors and toilet lids
- Hide pet supplies
- Turn off TV and computer screens
- Hide garbage cans (inside and outside)
- Shut all exterior doors (garage, barn, shed doors, etc.)
- Keep vehicles out of the photos by parking in a garage, on the street or at a neighbor's house
How long does a photo shoot take?
The duration of a photo shoot varies depending on the size of the property or project. Most last between 1 and 2 hours, but we may spend over 2 on larger properties and projects. We strive to provide ample time to capture all the important details. If you choose to add on any of our other marketing services, expect an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour.
What time of day is best for outdoor photos?
Evening golden hour (the hour before sunset) and just after sunset, is our favorite time frame for outdoor photos. The golden light and beautiful colors of sunset help achieve captivating photos. This time of day is prioritized for most of our outdoor rental, construction and design shoots. For real estate shoots, you have the option of upgrading to golden hour/sunset scheduling for an additional charge. If you choose not to upgrade, no worries! We shoot real estate in all lighting conditions, and will provide quality photos no matter the time of day!
How long does it take to receive the final edited photos?
We have a 1-2 week turnaround time for rental, construction and design shoots. We understand the real estate business is very fast-moving so we prioritize a 1-3 business day turnaround time for real estate shoots. We ensure quality and attention to detail to deliver exceptional images that exceed your expectations!
What happens if it's raining on the day of an outdoor shoot?
As we all know, weather predictions can turn on a dime. That being said, our protocol is to proceed with a shoot unless there is a high chance of rain 1-2 hours before. In that case, we will call you to reschedule. Of course, you have the option of rescheduling according to your preferences at any time. We're flexible in adapting to unforeseen circumstances!
How many photos can I expect to receive?
There's no set number of photos that we adhere to taking or delivering. Rather than counting photos, we focus on finding all of the best shots and angles and photographing a property or project in it's entirety. Every shoot is different and every shoot requires it's own creativity and variety of shots.
How far will you travel for a shoot?
We haven't said "no" to a photo shoot yet due to distance. Most of our shoots are within a 30 minute drive away but we've driven as far as 4 hours away in the past. One hour of travel (round trip) is free but we're willing to go the extra mile. We charge $25 per 20 minutes of driving after the first hour so that we're able go the distance to accommodate our clients. Travel time is calculated from Neffsville, PA.
We're more than happy to answer any other questions you have!
